Levi, Levi, you grow so fast! Or at least time goes by too fast! You have been in our lives for five months now(or at least out of the womb) and we treasure every single day with you. I am amazed how you win me over and melt my heart time and time again with your sweet little smile. What a joy you continue to be every single day...even on the long, a bit lonesome at times, and more challenging days. You are worth it!
This month has been a fun month. A month of changes. It might seem like small changes to others, but to this mom, they seem like big and exciting changes. Levi officially left the world of being swaddled EVERY SINGLE nap and night. It was like magic. But one nap then night he could sleep without his arms flapping all over and waking him up. He was a little over four months when he gained a bit of control in those little arms. Ha. He started out sleeping exclusively on his back. Then, another first, Levi began rolling over! Yay Levi! Almost always back to tummy, and mostly when we put him down to sleep. He doesn't roll multiple times, just onto his tummy and then plays. He loves his tummy. But, back to sleeping, he sleeps face down....and I mean straight down, I can't see his nose at all down. Crazy kid! Scares me a bit. Sometimes I can get him to turn it like these pictures indicate, but then other times it stays down. I should take a picture of Josh sometimes...He sleeps exactly the same way - head burrowed straight down into the pillow. Like father like son. Ha.
Levi is still an awesome sleeper....and needs lots of it! He sleeps from about 7-7 approximately every night. I wake him up at 10ish pm to eat then put back down. He wakes up happy as a lark in the morning until I come get him....then he remembers he's starving!
Another first: rice cereal! Yum! He actually likes it...sometimes. Ha. If he's hungry, he eats it...no problems. Side note, we used the bumbo at first. He wiggles all over that thing...and as of this weekend, figured out how to push off the ground, lifting the bumbo off the ground like it will tip. Oh dear! No more bumbo time unless I can sit right in front of him! I think it is because he's a bit skinny, so he can wiggle too much.
I've been feeding him almost every night. I started with about two teaspoons and am moving up. I mix it with breast milk.
He wasn't much of a fan. He managed to get down a few bites and then I switched to cereal. When finished he proceeded to throw/spit it all up....lovely! I mixed avocado and cereal together the next night and he gobbled it down. Success!
He used to fill his diaper 2-6 times a day. But since he's been eating food, it has gone down to 1-2 times.
He is still nursing about six times a day. But man oh man, he is a quick/short eater! He eats 5-10 minutes total. I thought maybe I wasn't producing enough milk...which was true, especially in the evening. So I started pumping after every feeding just about and offering him a bottle of previously pumped milk. Sometimes he'd drink it, but most of the time notta. My milk was getting better but then he goes through a day here and there where he simply doesn't want as much. My milk supply would go back down. So....needless to say this caused me some serious stress for a while. This is where we are: I nurse then pump in the morning, nurse the rest of the day normal, in the evening I nurse, feed cereal and then a bottle. Once again, sometimes he drinks it and other times not. It is at least peace of mind for me. Oh, and he hardly ever cries when he finishes nursing. Anyway....it is what it is.

Levi loves his tummy time. He scoots around, pushes up, holds his arms and legs off the ground(like he's sky diving or something), smiling and squealing the whole time.
Levi studies everything now! You can just see him trying to figure it all out. He does lots of reaching....followed by trying to put it in his mouth.
He still loves his activity mat, but now he'll roll onto his tummy and scoot around chewing on anything he can reach.

Levi just started sitting up by himself, or at least we finally tried it and he could. He plops over after a few seconds - enough time to grab my camera and shoot a picture. Ha.
Keller is still his constant companion. It is pretty fun to see Levi LOVE to watch/touch/grab Keller. He squeals with delight while Keller just gives me this look a lot.

Levi is still such a smiler! He's pretty happy most of the time, and his cry is more like yells and grunts still.
He's growing but not super fast. When he turned four months he weighed 14.7 pounds(38%) and measured 26 inches(81%) and head 16.5 inches. Since he only gained two pounds in two months, we decided to start him on solid food and offer a bottle in the evening in addition to nursing. So that being said, I have no idea how much he weighs and measures this month. I guess we'll see at his six month appt.
He wears 6-9 month clothing.
Size 3 diapers. And he hardly ever blows out anymore! Yay!!!!!
Fun times in the life of a five month old!
